Well, my Comcast went out last Saturday. It's still out but long story on how I am back now.

Last Saturday, bad storm. Comcast down. They said they couldn't get a tech out until Wednesday. Tech comes out and I told him the TV was able to get the local stuff but none of the higher end stuff. So what does he do? Turn to channel 10 which is the local CW, change the splitter and say, "Well, you're fixed." I said, "Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! I told you the locals had no problems. Let me try say the NFL Network." Turned to the NFL network and still had the same issue on the TV. He never looked at the internet. So then he starts to check lines. And at the line that enters the house, he says that my signal is too low and he must get a maintenance guy out here. Well, yesterday while watching some channels without problems, the screen blanks out. I look out the window and there is a guy at the pole across the street. He only spends about two minutes up there then lowers himself and leaves. My stuff is still out. So now I call to tell them that the guy never checked the same location (the entry point to the house as the first tech that said it was low checked) and so they say it will be next week when they can get another inside tech out. I asked if they could at least tell the guy to come back to see if there is an issue between pole and entry point. They said not until another inside guy comes out.

Right now, I moved the modem back to my room and unplugged the TV and plugged in the modem and router. It synched right up. Oh, did I forget to mention when I called last Saturday that the person swore up and down that my modem was the issue and I should get one of their modems for 3 dollars a month? I replied, "I have 2 modems because someone at Comcast said a previous time it was my modem so I ran out and bought one only to find out it was a line issue."

So right now, I am running wireless just to check stuff out. I doubt I could get some serious game time in though.

One thing is that StormStrike #42 was way late and behind schedule big time. But without net access I worked on it and almost completed it. Maybe I should just disconnect myself from the net a few days a month to work on SS.
